Jillian Canaj
Jillian, a skilled private chef, recipe developer, food stylist, and culinary event producer, caught my attention at an art event. Impressed by the delectable food she prepared, I inquired about a business card. Learning she was in the process of building her brand, I eagerly offered my design services, and our collaboration has grown since then!
Organic, sensual, elegant, and enchanting describe the brand.

I meticulously crafted the olive illustration by hand, selecting colors that reflected its essence. Transitioning to Adobe Illustrator, I digitalized the design, adding texture and refining details. The typography choices for the title, heading, and logo draw inspiration from the movement of nature, particularly flowers (frequently incorporated into Jillian's dishes), evoking an elegant aesthetic. Sans serif secondary typography was chosen for online applications like buttons and small details in menus and print assets. Finally, Baskerville was selected for its ability to convey the classy yet raw essence of Jillian's cuisine.
The color palette, inspired by olives and figs, echoes the sensual traits of these fruits, known for their aphrodisiac qualities. Crafting the drawing and logomark was a meticulous process, drawing inspiration from King's restaurant with Matisse-like designs. Ultimately, the olive design emerged as sophisticated, detailed, and picturesque. I also proposed various fruit variations, ranging from cherry to fig.
Adobe InDesign was used for business cards, while Canva facilitated menu designs, offering ease of collaboration for Jillian to add content seamlessly.
